Super Simple Halloween Costume

My biggest obstacle with most projects is that my ambitions often exceed my abilities. My mom recently gave me her sewing machine - we went to Joann’s and picked out material, bought a pattern for a bubble romper and all of the thread/elastic/needles/etc needed for me to make Roosy a cow costume for Halloween.

Did I mention I had literally never sewn before?

A few panic attacks and bobbin issues later, I decided that now is not the time to learn lol.

Cue needing a last minute costume that still required some sort of effort on my end - because I’ll be damned if my child’s (very first ever!) Halloween costume doesn’t consist of some sort of homemade aspect. That’s when I settled on a sheep!

If I may brag, I think this honestly came out so stinking cute for how simple it was.

Materials:

  • Black footie pajamas

  • White short sleeve onesie

  • White beanie

  • Cotton balls

  • Hot glue gun + glue

… and that’s literally it. Stretch out the cotton balls, apply hot glue directly to the cotton balls and then attach it to tehe onsie!

I have started practicing sewing so that we don’t run into this issue again next year, but all in all he looked so precious!
