Super Simple Festive Halloween Desserts
We started our trick-or-treating adventure at a friend’s house and you know me - I can’t show up anywhere empty handed! I was working my full time job on Halloween, but I may have taken a long lunch so I could make these sweet treats for my baby to share with his friends.
I love being a mom all the time, but being a mom during the holidays is sooo extra special. I love finding ways to make the ordinary a little more magical!
That said, I did not have a ton of time to make these so shortcuts were absolutely taken. I called up my girl Betty Crocker for the peanut butter cookie mix and Instacart’d some Rice Krispies to my door!
FRANKENSTEIN & MUMMY RICE KRISPIES
I looove the Watkins Dye Free Sprinkles, so I was thrilled to find they also make dye free food coloring!
I mixed Ghirardelli white chocolate melts with a little bit of the green food coloring, then dipped the rice krispies and added sprinkles and eyeballs. For the mummies, I just drizzled the white chocolate and added a little extra to the back of the eyes so they would stay on better.
SPIDER COOKIES
For the spiders, I cooked the peanut butter cookies according to the package. Once they were cooked, I let them cool for a few minutes before adding an upside down reese’s cup. The eyeballs stuck to the chocolate perfectly, then I was able to draw on the legs with a black gel food coloring applicator.
